After many sleepless nights I like to think that Brooke is finally onto something! She started sleeping thought the night consistently at 16 months (for about a month!). Then the revenge of the molars came about and there was another two bad weeks. I pray that were close to understanding what restful nights are again however I know right when we get it down we'll probably add another babe to the mix. Every night I pray that my next kiddo is a sleeping pro.
It's funny for some reason I've always been a night owl and early bird! So when Brooke decided that she wasn't going to be a GREAT sleeper I somehow struggled through it. Now don't get me wrong there were definitely days when I would need a nap while she was down and every once and awhile I would catch a "sleep in" morning if Greg was around ("if"is the big key word).
I rarely allowed lack of sleep to get the best of my day and I constantly tell Greg that San Diego has helped me beat the exhaustion. There's something about the sun and beautiful beaches that gets this momma going.
So my advice to all sleepy moms...don't let your little one dictate your day. Do ONE thing a day for yourself. If your feeling super good do two things but don't overdue it. I'm fortunate to be home therefore I make a chore or two a day for myself. That way I can always feel accomplished but never too overwhelmed. Make sure you do some of the things you also use to do before your sweet babe was with you. I loved working out. I no longer have access to a gym therefore I've been forced to become a runner and ultimately discovered a new addiction. The best part is that I get to do it with her right there motivating me. What is something that you do for yourself everyday to beat exhaustion?
Just remember...coffee is a beautiful thing!
