.one pound at a time.

All throughout my pregnancy I loved watching my body change however in the back of my mind I was always wondering how it was going to change BACK. Need less to say after Brooke there's been a bunch of adjustments in my workout routine in order to fit it back in. Point blank...IT'S HARD AS A MOM TO FIND TIME FOR YOURSELF TO WORK OUT. I might stay at home however I haven't taken the big leap to leaving her with someone. Therefore all of my workouts must revolve around being able to have Brooke there. There is nothing more satisfying than loading up the jogging stroller and Brooke and heading to the beach for a long boardwalk run. I'm so fortunate to have gorgeous weather year round. I know this isn't the case for most mommas. Therefore I figure I should take advantage of where I live.

I started with walking. It gave me a reason to get out of the house and slowly worked up to jogging. I've never been a runner and I don't even think that I'm a runner now. However I've made the huge decision to run a half marathon in June. It's definitely going to be a challenge and I like that it's going to hold me accountable. I'll have to train with Brooke but I'm looking to run the race alone. I love being able to look down and see my sweet baby while running. It's great motivation.

I use to be a gym rat. I loved working out at the gym and going to classes. However now that Brooke is here I don't have the energy to go to the gym at the end of the day when my hubby gets home. Plus I want to be able to spend time with him. Therefore when I don't get out to run sometimes I'll pop in a workout DVD while she's napping. Other days you might need to just take care of yourself. Which could mean drinking enough water or eating a healthy meal. It's about being healthy for your family now...not just yourself!

All and all it's about changing your workout to fit into your new wonderful life. Remember that everyday is an accomplishment. Even if it's just one mile, 10 pushups, 50 situps, or even if you managed to get a nap in. If you want the weight to come off it eventually will! Hang in there. Tell yourself...one pound at a time!
