.only a matter of time.

This week Brooke's progress is growing in leaps and bounds. It's really only a matter of time before this little girl is crawling like a mad woman. She has perfected the army crawl by throwing her pink baby a couple inches in front of her and then pulling herself to the baby...REPEAT! It's almost like she is playing fetch with herself. Needless to say it's nice to know that she can entertain herself. However, all of this growing is leading to SHEER exhaustion by the end of the day. She is sometimes fighting her nap times which can lead to a crabby girl at times.
Lots of people ask me if she's sleeping through the night yet...and the answer is NO;( I've decided to not kick myself and chalk it up to bad parenting. We are still exclusively breastfeeding minus maybe one bottle of formula a day. She does however go down consistently at 7:30pm. Therefore I LIVE for 7:30pm. It's funny how relaxing it is to not have to watch Brooke's every move. I would say that she wakes about twice a night and ultimately is up for the day at 7am. I personally will scream it from the mountains the night she chooses to sleep through but until then I'll live in my mommy haze.
Lastly after all of the good advice I've decided to make Brooke's baby food. I got myself a small 4 cup processor, ice cube trays, lots of yummy fruits and veggies, and ONE hungry baby! I'll keep everyone posted and maybe even post some recipes once I get into the process more. Well hope everyone enjoys their Friday morning! IT"S WEEKEND TIME!

  1. Cassie! Will Brooke put herself to bed and down for naps or do you have to hold her? I'm trying to get Graycin to put himself down when I put him in the pack and play or swing or bouncer (he isn't sleeping in his crib because we still have out foster kids and it's just not safe for him to be in there and out of my reach and in the oldests with out us). I'm supposed to be going back to work the first Monday in April and I'm taking Graycin with me, (thank gosh) cause I'm not ready to leave him and he's only going to able to stay if he cannot be all over the place and actually nap! We all know what happens when they don't have a nap repeatedly through out the say... Welcome to disaster baby. I'm just trying to figure out how to manage this and still do my job so he doesn't have to go to daycare before either one of us are ready. I don't think Medicare or Medicaid would appreciate a screaming baby. People keep telling me that I should just put him in his bed and let him scream but I just can't seem to do that... Suggestions? From anyone?
